Hello!
My name is Lilla, and this is moviepregame.com – a site dedicated to opening up the world of movies. There are more movies to watch than ever, and that number is growing every single day. It’s so hard to know what’s worth watching and how to spend your time. This site is designed to help people catch-up quickly on the latest releases; knowing what’s worth watching and, most importantly, what they can watch next – if they enjoyed it.
What is a “movie pregame”?
Let’s set the scene. You’ve just watched the brilliant new release from Yorgos Lanthimos, “Poor Things”. You absolutely loved it, and you want to watch more movies that are similar. This is surprisingly difficult to do. The purpose of a “movie pregame” is to provide you with a list of movies that give a similar “vibe” to the movie that you liked. This may have a similar team behind it, it may explore similar themes, it may use a similar storytelling method. The point is that this is a list of movies that I believe has similarities to the initial movie, that will make it an ideal pairing. Each listed movie is provided with its trailer and a short description, explaining what the movie’s about and why it’s a good pairing.
The idea is to make it easy for you to find the movies that you’ll enjoy. One of the site’s core philosophies is that a movie exists for somebody. Even the most objectionably bad movie in the world has an audience somewhere. Our hope is that we can identify that audience, and make it easy to find your next favourite movie.
Our Core Values
Our core values and philosophies with this site are:
- Everything is a 100% honest opinion. We do not accept money or gifts in exchange for a nice review.
- Every opinion that is shared is authentic. There are no lies for the sake of controversy, or to match mainstream opinions.
- Every movie has an audience. Some movies are bad, and it’s okay to acknowledge that, but every movie has the potential to be somebody’s favourite movie.
